Hey! I’m Helene,
i.e., helene does crafts.
I'm a NYC-based artist all-around crafts enthusiast: from fiber arts, to oil painting, to graphic design, I've been making stuff for as long as I can remember.
Crocheting has always held a special place in my heart and mind. I’ve been crocheting since my grandma taught me as a kid, but I truly turned to yarn as a way of coping with grief only a few years ago.
The repetitive, gentle, and ever-constructive process feels like tangible meditation to me, and I love that I can share what I create with you all. I've processed many an emotion as I analog-3D-print objects, creatures, anatomical parts, and miscellaneous objects with yarn.
Outside of crafting, I work in product consulting, eat lots of oatmeal, and love spending time with my cats, Edgar and Ellie. :)
